Zine

We were asked to get in groups within our course and produce a zine about the northern quarter. We had one day to do this and no computers were allowed to be used. We decided to go with the idea of 10 best places in the northern quarter for students. We made our zine a guide fitted with a map with key icons for each place.

I have always lived in Manchester so the northern quarter was not new to me.
For our research we were asked to visit the northern quarter collecting photographs and getting a feel for the area. Although i have visited many times i feel there is always something new like a new pop up cafe or clothing shops. I paralytic like the northern quarter because it has a laid back atmosphere, some really nice places to eat and great shops.

Unit x

I am a first year Graphic design student at Manchester Metropolitan University. This blog is for my current project unit x which is a large collaborative project centered around the northern quarter in Manchester. After a few weeks of individual researching and group work our course will be mixed with illustration students. I am looking forward to seeing how we can bring our design techniques together and create something interesting.
