Final Under Wraps ZIne

This is my final zine for the exhibition. The different colored card paper really brought the images in the zine to life and added a quirky style. the thick paper also makes the zine a lot more durable and feel really nice. I added a screw bind so the pages flip out and it was the best way to display the pages. I feel this zine has worked really well and will compliment the publication and my other work really well. This zine gives the viewers more insight into the publication made and our thoughts about finding hidden aspects of the northern quarter.

Developed Pull Out Poster

I decided to print the center fold on ticker natural colored cartridge paper to made it feel more luxurious and more durable. I wanted it to be matte as news print is and didn't want to poster to look out of place. The slight creamy brown paper sets the images of and gives it more of a vintage rustic feel. This links well to our publications and the quirky styles within the northern quarter.

Under Wraps: Zine Mock up

I have been arranging my pages for my zine to make sure they complement each other. I have created a mock up zine to scale to see if it is effective and to make sure I am happy with the size and pages. I think the standard paper it is printed on now is too thin and makes to zine look to sloppy. I was thinking of using different colored paper. Mostly earthy colors but adding some bright colors too. The northern quarter can be quite dingy and dirty but has a real bright and vibrant personality with quirky shops and busy nightlife. I feel this will be represented within the imagery and colored papers.

Under Wraps Zine Development

Along with the pull out poster for the publication and the flyers I am making a zine to go along side the exhibition and compliment the work I have been doing. The northern quarter is full of quirky publications and zine’s so I thought it would be a perfect format to showcase the unusual things I have found about the northern quarter. I have been editing photographs, drawing some illustrations and finding interesting concepts to make this zine as quirky as the northern quarter to create the right character to the publication.

Under Wraps Flyer

I decided to develop the pull our poster into a flyer to promote the exhibition. I wanted to keep if fairly similar. I thought it would look more effective this way and give the public something to link directly with the exhibition. I also think it looks really nice as a small flyer with the quirky collage cover and plain background highlighting the key information. I feel this flyer is effective and creates curiosity to what the exhibition may contain.
